Do you think it could be the case that its so long since people felt that they live in a just world, that they have forgotten what justice is? Sometimes it seems like people put God in the same category as any person, and think He's just the same. So the different manifestations of His nature can be called changes in who He is, denying His immutability. (It means his unchanging-ness!) And people do bad things, but when consequences work their way out in more bad things in the earth, apparently its God's fault. As though He is not fair.

There's a fantastic song by Graham Kendrick - he's still at it - called, "How Long" which asks the questions, "How long 'til the earth is filled with your song, and until your justice shines like the sun?"

A question that resonates with a yearning in me. One day, we will all know that we have been treated fairly by God, if not by any other.
